Nitrogen: the element
Nitrogen is one of the coldest elements reaching temperature of -346 degrees Fahrenheit( that's extremely cold for anyone)
|
we need nitrogen to survive! The 7 proton and electron element maybe cold but it's used in hospitals everywhere!
Keep in mind to not touch liquid nitrogen or your hand could swell up to 15 times its normal size! |
A.P.E M.A.N.
Most people know what A.P.E. M.A.N. stands for but if you are one of the younger people in our audience and don't know what ape man stands for then let us tell you. The A's stand for atomic number which is the top number of the element tile. The P stands for protons which equals the atomic number and E stands for electrons which also is equivalent to the atomic number. The M stands for mass and the N stands for Neutrons. You find out the number of neutrons by subtracting the atomic number by the mass.

Fun Facts
The middle part of the model is the nucleus. The Nucleus contains both Protons and Neutrons. The circles around the Nucleus is called the Electron cloud, and it is where the electrons live. The outer circle has a special name, it's called Valance. The electrons that are on the Valance are called Valance Electrons. The first circle must be full first to continue on to another circle, which in this case is the Valence. To fill up the first one you need TWO Electrons. The next two circles will need EIGHT Electrons. If the Valance doesn't fill up, it becomes unstable. There for Nitrogen is an Unstable Element.
